Fall has arrived
Monday it was 90 degrees. Today it is 67 degrees.
My summer yarn languished in the stash alllllll summer… I had enough yarn for 3 tanks or tees and I knit none of them. I’m a little disappointed.
I’m suddenly very motivated to knit this yarn into a February Lady Sweater:
The yarn was originally purchased for a long sleeve Wicked sweater, but I decided that one of those was enough. The sweater is cute enough, but I dont think the neckline and sleeves fit well enough to have two of them.
In other news, I achieved one of my summer goals: Bike to work an average of twice per week. I did it. In fact I surpassed my goal and made a new one… bike to work every day one week by the end of the year. I think next week will be the week for that. Let me just say that biking rocks. There is nothing better than rolling in to work at 8am knowing that you have already accomplished something. Sure, I get to work sweaty and out of breath and my face is beet red, but it’s worth it. Yes, sometimes I have to bike in hail or rain or wind gusts, and there are occasional altercations with motorists or other cyclists, but it is still worth it. It puts me in a way better mood for the entire day (perhaps because it makes me too tired to be angry, I’ve found that it takes a lot of energy to be angry). It’s also made me quite the optimist… I feel like if I can overcome my laziness to pedal my ass 17 miles round trip to work, in traffic, up hill and into the wind both ways (or at least that’s what it feels like), I can do anything. Ok, maybe not anything, but it’s sure made me re-evaluate what I thought I was capable of. Great things can happen when you overcome laziness
